Dr Padovan is a bariatric (Obesity) surgeon and weight loss surgeon with a vast experience in Gastric Bands, Sleeve Gastrectomy and Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass.

After completing his surgical training in Perth and obtaining FRACS in 1999, Dr Padovan spent a further five years subspecialty training in the USA. This included working at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the leading Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre in the United States.

This Center included a multidisciplinary team of dietitians, psychologists, pulmonary specialists, endocrinologists and plastic surgeons. Dr Padovan returned to Australia in 2005 and started his practice, Emerge Surgical. A key part of his plan was to reproduce the multidisciplinary team he had worked with in the US.
