Rick Bond is a specialist vascular surgeon. He is the current state Director for Vascular surgery in Western Australia and is the Head of Vascular Surgery at both Fiona Stanley and Fremantle hospitals and examiner for the Royal Australian College of surgeons (RACS).
Privately, he consults in East Fremantle, Rockingham, and Busselton and operates at St John of God Murdoch, and Waikiki Private Hospital, Rockingham. He also performs minor procedures in his rooms in East Fremantle.
Rick is a dual trained British and Australian vascular and general surgeon with over 30 years of medical experience. He started his training at the Royal Free Hospital in London and completed his consultant training in England in 2004. During this time he attained a PhD from Oxford University for research into the outcomes of carotid surgery.
In 2005 he immigrated to Australia and became a citizen. He took the Australian surgical exams and has become a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as well as retaining his membership of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain.
Rick specialises in all areas of vascular disease. He is experienced with both open surgical techniques and endovascular, minimally invasive therapies.
He believes in the importance of maintaining good open surgical skills in addition to embracing and advancing endovascular techniques. His broad experience allows him and his team to provide unbiased advice and excellent treatment tailored to each individual patient.
